Fan cels, dream cels...
last modified: Monday, October 06, 2008 (8:59:52 AM CST)
Some times, it's hard to distinguish between the two. When you are into a CG show (which is all shows nowadays, isn't it?), the only cels you're going to get are either fan or reproductions/rilezu.

I'm so at the mercy of the Japanese fan cel artists, though Crystal has done them one better with her watercolor paintings!
I'm so happy to see it when they chose a frame from the show that ~I~ dearly love as well. And out of all the numerous episodes available in Bleach, that's quite the feat!

Well, thanks to a heads up from Greg, I got in a good high bid on this fan cel on YJ, and just a few minutes ago, I WON! WOOT!
(And no, this is not an "In your face!" dance, it's just the dance of elation that had to be shared.)

I know, with fees and shipping, it's a lot more than that winning bid price, but sometimes, it's just worth it.
I mean, come ON, Ichigo and Yoruichi in the hot spring in Urahara's underground training place!
NAKED Ichigo! With WET hair! SWEATING!!!

Okay, I think my heart's going to pop, so I'll just stop now.
heh heh heh

I give up...
last modified: Thursday, September 11, 2008 (10:25:26 PM CST)
My husband is rarely home anymore, and well, ... he's the resident I.T. guy. >.>
He hasn't gotten the new computer and the old scanner to talk properly to each other yet. And it doesn't look like he's going to ever get the time.

SO!
Back to taking pictures.
Because I just can't stand it. I've still been slowly adding to my pile of treasures, and need to get them added to the gallery!
So, I'll be updating every now and then, trying to get through the backlog of stuff I've accumulated the past year. ^^;;

I got some goodies!
Added to BLEACH - 31, BLEACH genga/rough/sketch, and a nice King of Bandit Jing pan sketch tonight. ^_^

Holy Grail
last modified: Friday, August 01, 2008 (7:58:59 AM CST)
Well, what with all the sad news up here these days, I am hesitant to post my fantastic good news for fear it will look like I'm thumbing my nose at others.
But I'm not. It's just.
Such a fantastic story, I have to share. ^_^

I've said it before, I'll say it again: My cel buds are the bestest. Ever.

I didn't get to go to AX this year, but once again, my friends managed to snag a wonderful piece of Ichigo art for me. Once I get this whole scanner thing figured out (scanner isn't talking to the computer anymore, gotta scan to another computer, use some different software to edit, then transfer to another computer...) I'll get things scanned in and hopefully get caught UP. O_o I'm soooo far behind.

But even that's not the best news.
Nope.
Not by a long shot.

A friend at work informed me that certain theaters were going to show the Bleach movie: Memories of Nobody. A couple nights only. I made sure I saw it. (Go figure)

Even that's not the best news.
Nope.
Not by an even longer shot.

Before the movie, there was a bit of behind the scenes stuff on voice actors and such. But the crux was - Kubo Tite announcing he would be at Comic Con in San Diego about a month from the time I was seeing that.
O_O
*blink*
His first ever appearance in North America.
Holy Crap.
I said then, I Need to Find a Way There.

JWR let me crash with him and his wife. *_* They put up with me being strung out after such a long flight, fed me, led me around... it was great!
But then, Joe convinced another friend, Dave of Nichibei Anime (Lord, I'm forever in his debt!)to help me get a ticket for a personalized autograph from Kubo Tite!!!! *faint*
I was such a nutcase, when I got up to the front of the line to get the ticket, and they asked me what name I wanted Kubo to make the autograph for... I couldn't think fast enough! aernath? Leah? I had to have them look at my badge to get my name. XD

And, and....!
Yeah, not the best yet!

I took my Ichigo stained glass with me. ~_^
When I finally got to the front of the line to get Kubo's autograph, he was there with his interpreter from Viz.
While he was signing, I pulled out the stained glass and tilted it up for him to see.
Me: Omake-des.
Interpreter: You MADE it?!
Me: Yes.
Interpreter: Is present?!
Me: Yes.
*I lay the piece back down and pass it to Kubo*
Kubo: *small head bow* Arigato.
Me: *___* Arigato!

It's taken me a week to get over the jetlag and start to come down from the sheer high.
heh heh

Yeah, yeah, as soon as I get the darned scanner thing figured out, I'll get things scanned IN!

In the meantime, my cel buds are the BEST.

(Oh yeah, and I also got into the Bleach panel (Kubo Tite interview), but Viz didn't allow any photographs, pictures, or video of any kind. Poop. I had my camera all ready to go too.)
I also took my Ichigo and Hollow Ichigo (Kyouzou) dolls with me all dressed up in their shinigami outfits, but didn't have time to show them to Kubo. Just enough time to hand off the glass.

But anyway...
Just.
Amazing.
And awesome.
Okay, maybe it will be another week before I'm completely down from the high. XD

It's the little things...
last modified: Wednesday, November 21, 2007 (7:27:51 PM CST)
I got a smallish package from Celga today (I don't buy much anymore), but included inside was one little geek toy that I adore. ^_^
Go ahead, guess.
Yes, it's got to do with Ichigo. How could it not?
It's a little key fob thing. Has a nice picture of Ichigo on it, and if you press the picture/button, you get treated to hearing the real Ichigo's voice (Masakazu Morita) saying "because you are protected" in Japanese. (I could say it for you, but not spell it, so um... yeah) (Heck, by now, my ~husband~ could probably repeat what it says!)
I got this one instead of the one where all he says is "Ban-kai!" because, well, quite frankly, he's saying more words! XD More words = more chocolate dripping from the sky onto my parched, Ichigo-loving heart. ^^

*snicker*

My Ichigo and Hollow Ichigo (I call him Kyouzou - Japanese for "mirror image" or "reflection") dolls finally came back home after a week long trip to get masks made for them.
Yes, my Ichigo doll now has a Hollow mask too!
The geekiness continues apace!

So, giggling fool that I am, I'm on my way home from the post office later on in the day, and this guy inches up beside me at a red light line of traffic and says: Excuse me. I like your Bleach sticker!
*beams*
(I've got a Bankai Ichigo silhouette sticker on the driver's side of our Beetle. Got another, different one on the passenger side too.)

Each of these things just made my day, but put all together like that? And it's the day BEFORE Thanksgiving!

Personally, I think I just HAD my Thanksgiving. ^_^

Here's hoping you all get wonderful warm fuzzies somehow tomorrow, and throughout the year.
Don't forget to be thankful for the little things that mean so much to you as well!

Just curious...
last modified: Saturday, June 09, 2007 (5:53:12 PM CST)
I know it's been almost a year now since I made my last anime stained glass piece, and I know there was a lot of interest when I was doing them for free.
If I were to start up again, I would NOT be able to do them for free. I used to have a huge stash of glass to use, so there were really no costs involved for me. Just time and effort.

I've been thinking about getting back into it again, but each project would likely be a couple hundred dollars each (not to mention shipping) and I don't know if folks would be able to pay that much or not.
Seriously, I'd be starting from scratch here, so a lot of money would be used just getting the materials for each projcet. Glass, lead, foil, bandaids, it all adds up in a hurry.
I think I can do them out on the porch, but we'll see.

Anyway, just wondering if there's really any interest at all or not. ^__^

Don't expect any great shakes or movement for a while even if there is. XD
I'm just kicking the idea around right now, seeing if it will bite back. ~_^
